Looking out at hills of clouds
and I could see for miles,
though sunset’s glow was all around,
it couldn’t match her smile.
.
I looked across the stormy sea
for beauty that I seek,
but even that could not compare
to she of whom I speak.
.
I searched atop the mountains high
to match her glowing grace,
but majesty of earth and sky
was nothing to her face.
.
I strolled unto the flowing plains
by the bright sunrise,
but nowhere could I see a thing
more pleasing than her eyes.
.
At last I journeyed through the wood
of maple, oak, and fir;
but ne’r a moment, would i say,
as beautiful as her.
